Incoming kindergarten s tudents&rsquo\; first day of school will be next Wednesday (Sept. 9th) an d they will follow the gradual entry plan. If you have a child entering k indergarten\, please be sure to send us an email (birchland@sd43.bc.ca) t his week to let us know that your child will still be attending kindergar ten at our school. While email is preferable\, you can call us at 604 941 -3428 to let us know this information. For the most part\, students will remain with their last year&rsquo\;s teacher(s) for the duration of the week. For some\, this will look a little different and their line up places will be slightly adjusted (for example\, students from Div'\;s 6 and 7 (last year) will be relocated in the school to allow for our inco ming K&rsquo\;s to be in the K/1 classrooms). I will send out information on Tuesday afternoon about line up places for all our students in grades 1-5\, and we will also show / tell students where they will line up for the remainder of the week. For any new students to the school in grades 1 -5\, please meet in the front foyer of the school on Tuesday morning. We will place these students in a classroom of similar aged students for the first week. \n\nA reminder that the welcoming bell will ring at 8:45am a nd classes will begin at 8:50am and students will be dismissed at 9:20am (on Tuesday).
