DESCRIPTION:St. Mark is author of the oldest and the shortest of the four 
 Gospels\, the Gospel of Mark. Like St. Luke (another Gospel writer)\, he 
 was not one of the 12 apostles of Jesus. It is not known if Mark knew Jes
 us personally\, although many scholars believe he is the man who ran off 
 naked from the Garden of Gesthemane (Mark 14:51-52). He is usually identi
